Devraj Singh is Assistant Professor of the Amity Institute of Applied Sciences at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India. He did his DPhil in Science at the University of Allahabad, India, in 2002 on ‘Study of Ultrasonic Attenuation in Condensed Materials’. His research and publication interests include the mechanical, thermophysical ultrasonic characterisation of condensed and advanced materials. He is a fellow of the Ultrasonics Society of India and the life member of number of scientific societies: India Association of Physics Teachers, Acoustical Society of India, Materials Research Society of India, Metrology Society of India, Indian Physics Association, Ion Beam Society of India. He is the Associate Editor of MAPAN–Journal of Metrology Society of India (Springer) and member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Pure & Applied Ultrasonics, Journal of the Acoustical Society of India, ISST Journal of Applied Physics. With 17 years of teaching and research experience, he has to his credit 86 research articles in national and international journals of ultrasonics and materials science and 23 books including “Fundamentals of Optics”, “Applied Optics”, “Modern Physics for Scientist and Engineers” (PHI Learning, Delhi), “Thermal Physics”, “Electronic Devices” (Alpha Science International Ltd., Oxford), “Engineering Physics” (Dhanpat Rai & Co, Delhi).
